Luke Askew,
the controversial new percussionist for The Insignificants has been a rather
colorful addition to the group. Claiming to be a French Canadian Quebecois
Separatist, he has given a somewhat more political slant to an ensemble that
really does not need it. His rhythmic approach has been termed
"computer like", to which he adds "at least I know how to keep le beat."
His legendary falling outs with the volatile SanWich Jones have also added
an edge to a music that redefines the term "the Gillette challenge." His
moods range from stubborn to an air of complete and utter superiority.
As one critic put it, "he seems almost Bill Gatesian."
