Velvet Hangover

“VELVET HANGOVER was labeled in Czech Republic as a “ controversial” film. Bottom line of problems are very open, honest interviews. Authors succeeded in getting material, which is very explosive in its substance. Interviews are authentic.  Regardless it’s subjectivity, this film can remind the audience, for example, dairies of Adnrej Tarkovski.  The film Velvet Hangover is a unique source of information - not just for film historians.”

 FILM A DOBA magazine

… As a ‘foreigner’ coming back home he saw something much better that Czechs can’t see clearly: the whole picture, the shattered landscape of Czech cinema.  His questions and editing techniques created a tense climate of quite excited, not just a generation, dialogue.  He brought to life the atmosphere of stimulating arguments that are missing in Czech cinema today.  Modestly and between the lines he illustrates the atmosphere of fatigued silence, or no need to ask any questions, that prevails today.  He pulled back to our attention almost forgotten themes, most of all: what is the real authorship with all the risks attached and what the weight of our own words represents.  I believe he fulfilled his obligation.  He left the footprint.
