ROBERT BUCHAR was born in Czechoslovakia. He studied photography at the School
of Graphic Arts and got his M.F.A. in cinematography from FAMU, Film Academy of Fine Arts, Prague, Czechoslovakia. He worked
as a freelance cinematographer before defecting to the U.S. in 1980. Has since photographed several films and documentaries
in the U.S. and Europe. Currently he is the senior cinematography faculty and the principal author of the Cinematography Program
at Columbia College Chicago.
