This is a candid shot -- how Ray looks every morning before coffee.
Just kidding. Actually, in November, we dressed up for the annual Adams and Reese attorneys' holiday party.
The dress code was "in costume," the theme was Louisiana from Purchase to Present. Suzanne went as Anne Rice; Ray went
as Rice's favorite character, the vampire Lestat. The picture at right shows Ray in vampire makup, before putting
on the wig and costume. Below is a picture of both of us in full costume.

We made one major change in our house. Like many old New Orleans
houses, ours features double parlors up front, and for years we used (rarely) the second room as a dining room. We decided
to convert that second room, the largest in the house, into a TV room. We moved the dining-room furniture to a
little-used area next to the kitchen, had a little bit of re-wiring done, installed new lights and a ceiling fan,
bought a big-screen TV, and connected it to stereo equipment that we already had. Now, for a movie-like experience at
home, we just dim the lights, microwave some popcorn, and enjoy.

In early May, we took a trip to Chicago, where Ray attended the DRI Appellate
Advocacy Seminar. While Ray was occupied with the seminar, Suzanne took in the Field Museum. Here is a picture
of the museum's prize tyrannnosaurus rex, Sue. (If her name is Sue, shouldn't we call her a tyrannosaurus regina?)

In Chicago, we stayed at a hotel across the street from the Hancock Tower.
Suzanne snapped this shot on our first day there, when the weather was cloudy.
