We are lucky to live near the start of the only surviving neighborhood parade:  Thoth.  The parade's idiosyncratic route is designed to take it past Children's Hospital and several nursing homes -- to give the patients a chance to experience Carnival.  We catch the parade around the corner from our house, across the street from New Orleans Home and Rehabilitation Center.
