The living
room area appears open and spacious, due to the walls of glass on either
side, and also due to the vaulted ceiling, which enhances the height
of the room.
We would have
preferred if the fireplace had not been painted over, but since the
damage was already done, we only changed the color from beige to
white.
The wood burning stove inserted into the fire place,
which can be seen in some of the pictures is gone by now. We always
felt that it was too
rustic for an Eichler. Since it did not work very well either, we
finally decided to convert back to the original fireplace and added
a contemporary set of doors and fireplace tools.
The pictures
to the right also provide a bit of a perspective on the mahogany
paneling vs. the painted look. The smaller picture was taken before
painting the wall and the fireplace.
