raoulsch background

thanks to the digital age and web 2.0 a single person can become a band, and publish music as a recording artist. for me this new era began when a friend showed me his digital recording studio a couple of years ago. after playing guitar for quite a while i was finally able to record stuff and put a cd out in a simple and straightforward manner (or so i thought until it came to the point of mixing and mastering).

after some experimentation with the technology by recording cover tunes, i started to write music and record my own stuff, which then brought the opportunity to publish and to find out if anyone would actually listen ...

raoulsch style

my style is a reflection of the music i have been listening to over the years. i started paying attention to music in the mid-seventies, and grew up with with the artists that were popular in europe at the time, ranging from pop (abba, albert hammond, al stewart, bellamy brothers, neil diamond, paul mccartney) to various flavors of rock (alan parsons, bob seger, bruce springsteen, the eagles, eric clapton, fleetwood mac, nazareth, pink floyd, queen, status quo) to name a just a few. nowadays, i still enjoy the music from back then, but also listen to daniel powter, pete yorn, diana krall, keith jarrett, marlango, klee, mika, salif keita, mark knopfler, and others.

wind in my face: my latest release as of August 2008 expands on sounds and themes from previous albums and presents a journey through the day, starting with the awakening of the new day through various experiences through the course of the day, to the reflective closing of the day. the material was written and recorded in 2007 and 2008 and has been published on CDBaby as well as other independent music sites

world at the edge: my second release, contains commentary on the state of affairs on this planet. the material was written and recorded in 2006 and 2007. I have used a guitar synthesizer on this album in addition to the guitars to create more variety and flavor. this album was also professionally mastered and printed. it is available for download and is now also for purchase in 'hard copy' cd format on CD Baby.
