02-08-2005 Taxes, Housework, Meatball Minestrone and The Village
Tuesday, February 8, the ground is soaked again and it is sprinkling on and off. I was up until 2:00 a.m. last night trying to revamp my on-line journal so I can upload it at Glenda's tomorrow night. After a late breakfast we make a run through the tax forms to make sure we've gathered all necessary documents before we leave town. I cleaned out my 'in box.' Yes, it is sad, but true, I have an inbox even in retirement. Charlie and Manuel were busy all morning doing something to fix the water in the RV Park. For a while we had no water and had to turn the pump on to use our holding tank supply. After noon we rally and have a housecleaning. I made a big old pot of Meatball Minestrone and a salad for lunch. Then Bob went to Elgin for one last haircut and to get a paper.
We perused the news of the day and conquered the puzzles. Then we settled in for NCIS and House. The hospital drama is quickly becoming our favorite new show. Nothing is more fun than a cynical doctor who is not afraid of lawsuits and is never politically correct. We watched our free movie rental; The Village. It was not what I expected. I'm not big on scary movies but this was more like an Alfred Hitchcock movie, all about nuances. I'm sure hoping this rain subsides before we try to pull out of here. Yesterday a big motor home drove in and used the dump station down the way. He sunk in pretty deep as he ran over the grass to get close to the utilities. We never like to travel in the rain so we're hoping for better weather on Thursday.
It's 10:30 p.m. and 54.2 degrees.
