02-04-2005 Cheating at the Driving Range

Friday, February 4, I woke up at 6:25 and got my head out of bed. I enjoyed my coffee in the dark and then turned the light on and did some reading. I was hoping to see the sun come up but the sky was overcast again. Bob got up and made breakfast tacos. We used our last two tortillas so I guess the store is in order. We practiced putting, and read for a while until the sun came out. After leftovers for lunch we put our new clubs in our bags. I had to switch head covers and sort out new slots for everything.

About 2:00 we headed to the driving range in Elgin. It is about 59 degrees and the sun is trying to break through. My new E.R.C. Calloway 7-metal can only be classified as outright cheating on the golf course. I can close my eyes and hit it. Oddly enough it is about four inches longer than my old 7-metal. Better golf through technology! After hitting a bucket of balls we stopped at HEB in Elgin for a few groceries and the newspaper. Back home we snacked and read the paper. At 7:00 we watched The Super Bowl vs. The World Commercials showdown. The Super Bowl commercials won--what a shock. I was surprised to see EDS' herding cats commercial as number two in its category.

We watched Blue Collar TV. Darn that Jeremy, he has us hooked on these guys. Bob is watching a WWI documentary and I'm updating my journal.

It's 9:24 p.m. and 48.4 degrees.
