01-26-2005 Decadent Chocolate Torte in the West Wing

Wednesday, January 26, it is warm again; 54 degrees at 9:00 a.m. I was up late getting all of my journal pages ready for uploading tonight at Glenda's. After breakfast Bob checked a running light bulb in The Beast. It must have just been corroded, not burned out, because it worked fine after her pushed it back in the socket.

We had one movie, Manchurian Candidate, with Denzel Washington and Meryl Streep that we needed to watch. So we spent the early afternoon watching the movie with a short break for lunch. After the movie we went to the driving range in Elgin, got a paper and I mailed a letter at the post office of the way home. Back home we read the paper, had a snack and then headed to Glenda's for West Wing. We took her two Isaac Asimov collections that we had finished reading. She had a special surprise for us; Bear Creek Country Kitchens Tortilla Soup Mix. She had this brand before and highly recommends it.

I had lots of things to accomplish on-line tonight and had my head stuck in the PC screen most of the evening. I did break for West Wing and a slice of Glenda's Decadent frozen chocolate torte--very sinful! We left around 11:00 after seeing her pieced bull’s-eye quilt top and finding an empty cardboard box in her back room.

It's 1:25 a.m. and 55.3 degrees. There is supposed to be a mild cold front tomorrow.
