01-25-2005 False Hope

Tuesday, January 25, I keep sleeping late this past week. I feel certain it is due to the bedroom being so much darker with our new window covering. I finally dragged myself into the bright sunny world of the living room. We had a lazy morning. We did make a few phone calls to sort out some banking business. Then I downloaded the pictures that were in the camera. It seems that this is a new task that I must put on my daily list of things to do if I want to put current photos on my journal pages.

After noon Bob and I geared up to go out and hitch the trailer up to the truck just as if we were pulling out of here. We wanted to test the new Air Lifts and see if we could find a good range for the psi settings and get the load fairly level. We don't want any surprises when we try to pull out of here after being stationary for two months. It was kind of a whole new Twilight Zone episode to put the slides in and hitch up the rig and then not go to some new and exciting place. We just unhooked it all and came back inside and stared at each other. Oh well, we'll be gone with the wind in two short weeks.

So thinking it was a job well done, we opened the frig to get a beverage and have a break. The refrigerator door decided to come unhinged. Bob had to get out various tools to adjust two pairs of hinges and the door lock after I had unloaded the contents from the door. Soon he had it all re-aligned and now we can easily open and close the door again. After that excitement I worked on my journal for a bit while Bob watched an alternate ending on the Chronicles of Riddick. Around 6:00 p.m. we went to Hong Kong in Elgin for Moo Shu Shrimp. We drove home under a full, bright moon and returned in time to see House at 8:00. We read the paper (my theory is amok; Tuesday is "Little Paper Day" too this week.) Now I'm racing to update my journal pages before I get on-line at Glenda's tomorrow night. No rest for the wicked!

It's 10:41 p.m. and 58.1. Jay Leno just said an RV manufacturer announced a new RV that is safe during from radiation. What will they think of next?
