01-08-2005 Monster Chocolate Chip Cookie at Cheddar's

Saturday, January 8, it is overcast and cool this morning. We had a light breakfast. Glenda picked me up promptly at 11:00 this morning and we were off for a day of shopping and eating. She was nice enough to stop at the camera place so I could ask a few more questions. Then we stopped at the shopping center north of Parmer at I-35. I found too many can opener choices at Linens & Things and ended up leaving them all there. Glenda found her paper shredder at a discount store-not-to-be-named at this point in time.

Our next stop was lunch at Cheddar's on I-35. We both enjoyed Baked Potato Soup to-die-for and half of a turkey and ham sandwich. Then we split the Monster Chocolate Chip Cookie. This is now on my list of top-10 all-time favorite desserts. This thing was a huge, right out of the oven chocolate chip cookie baked in its own little skillet with scoops of ice cream, hot chocolate sauce, whipped cream, nuts and a cherry! OMG.

We waddled in to Highland Mall after that and hung around in Foley's where I bought a white top and Glenda resisted several items of apparel. She was patient as I nixed every 2005 calendar I saw as being too big for the RV. I did like a mini Texas calendar, but believe it or not it was too small to write on. So I opted for a Lang Folk Art monthly planner. It's the same size as last year's pocket planner I was using and will fit in the space on my kitchen counter. I wished the Frank Lloyd Wright or Seurat calendars had been the right size. Oh well.

We took our weary feet back to the car and headed to Elgin around 4:30. I hopped in to HEB and got a paper. It was fun to spend a girly day with such a good friend. Back home Bob was watching a movie rental when I got home (Lord of the Rings: The Return.) The sun is out and it got to 60 degrees.

It's 9:10 p.m. and 45.5 degrees.
