We got gas for $1.57/gal at a Rally on Burnet Road. Then we tried Bangkok Cuisine, a Thai Restaurant at the corner of everything and everything else (as my brother Kevin used to say.) It's funny; we never ate there when we lived here all of those years. It is a great lunch buffet of Thai delicacies. There were lots of curry and coconut sauces. And I've never seen fried fresh spinach. It was very thing and lacey and melted in your mouth. And I died and went to heaven over their hot jasmine tea. For the first time I had black rice with coconut sauce (a dessert that is kind of like tapioca pudding.)
By the time we left a cold front really hit with a vengeance. It was 70 degrees when we left Elgin this morning around 10:00 a.m. It is now 50 degrees with a cold north wind at 2:00. We stopped at Ritz Camera at Parmer & I-35. I took up David's time for about an hour and picked his brain for features and models that interested me. I'm narrowing down my choices.
We got an Almond Crème Cake at H.E.B. next door to take to Glenda's tonight. We drove home in the cold rain just before 5:00 and settled in to read the paper. About 6:30 we went over to Glenda's place. She had a nice cozy fire going. I got on-line and worked through a list of about 10 things I needed to look up and download. How did we ever get anything done before the Internet? (I.e. tax forms, boat registration, bill paying, calorie calculators, store directories, investments, etc.) West Wing was an exciting new episode. We're getting a new president (in my dreams:-) It's good to have Glenda back in town! We enjoyed tea, coffee and Almond Tea Cake. I agreed to meet her tomorrow at her quilting bee for show-and-tell with my window coverings. Bob and I left around 10:15. It was cold outside after Glenda's nice fire. On the way out of Cedar Hills we saw a wreck on Hwy 95, just south of the 1st entrance to the subdivision. That must have been the helicopter we heard at Glenda's a bit earlier.
It was 52 degrees inside the trailer when we got home. It's now 12:02 p.m. and 39.8 degrees outside. What a difference from the past few days!
