Around 1:30 or so we left for the post office to mail a package and get our mail for the first time since Hampton, Arkansas, before Thanksgiving. The postal clerk said it came general delivery this morning and she had no idea who it was. I said "We lived here all that time and you've forgotten us already!" She asked "Why would you have it sent Gen'l Delivery if you live here?" Can civilians go postal?
Next we stopped at Blockbuster to get some movies before the New Year's crowd scarfs them all up. Then we went to City Cafe for lunch and a newspaper. The tsunami death toll is estimated at 100,000 now. What a terrible tragedy.
We came back home and I couldn't wait to go through our 5.6 pound package of mail. How fun to get all of my Christmas cards in one day; after Christmas. It was great to hear from everyone and catch up on their news. The rest of the mail is till in a pile unopened, but all of the Christmas greetings have been savored.
I read the paper for a bit and we watched some TV. It's 11:15 p.m. and 62.5 degrees. It was a very windy day.
