I made some phone calls for a few more doctors’ appointments in January. After putting practice and cleaning up we went to the driving range. Bob was anxious to try his two new clubs. It was nice and warm so my joints didn't ache at the driving range. There were quite a few people there. I guess some lucky souls are off this week and more than one of them got new clubs for Christmas that they just had to try out. First we stopped at Ace Hardware in Elgin for screws, nuts, bolts and washers to finish the boat rack. We got gas and a paper too.
On the way home we had lunch at City Cafe since it was after two and most places in town only serve lunch until two. There was quite a crowd there too. I guess folks still have visitors in from out of town and everyone's sick of cooking. Back home we read the paper and then Bob got ambitious and got up on the roof to clean the three roof vents. He was bemoaning the cold weather that kept him from doing a few outside chores so he wanted to take advantage of the nice day. Our neighbor brought home her filled propane bottles and hefted them into her side storage compartment. Bob says they weight about 55 pounds each so I was impressed.
I spent some time printing out documents that I was out of and mailing my journal pages to my folks. I'm kind of behind on my journal. I have a handwritten outline but haven't transcribed every day to an on-line file. Too many parties during the holidays!
It's 6:19 p.m. and 58.7 degrees. We watched a PBS American Experience on Woodrow Wilson. Then Bob called Steve and Elaine to see if they were free tomorrow night. I returned Glenda's call. She has my package from Patti that I can't wait to see. Around 9:30 I called my folks. They had a nice Christmas at my brother Jeff's house. Sunday night when I called they were all over at my brother Mark's house (sounded like a big poker game was going on.) Sounds like they all had a nice Christmas. It was good to talk to both of them.
Now it's 1:43 a.m., 46.8 degrees and I'm done updating all of my backlogged journal pages. My back is killing me!
