After breakfast Bob regripped his two new clubs and then hooked the water back up. The gray water holding tank valve was frozen so he couldn't close it until it warms up a bit. We pack up six loads of laundry and head to the laundry mat in Elgin. Of course that brings on a bit of deja vu since Elgin's laundry mat was our very first experience after moving into our new home on wheels almost one year ago. I assured Bob that the day after Christmas nobody would be at the laundry mat (I was considering going with a bag over my head myself.) He had the last laugh. The place was packed. Every dryer was in use but some were free by the time our washers were done. One machine we chose didn't work and another at two quarters but we got out in good time.
The temperature says 50 degrees on the chiropractor’s office by the laundry. It is sunny and comparatively warm. The Sunday paper we bought was full of news of the major 100-year snow that fell all along the Texas coast. Victoria and Edna had 11 and 13 inches of the white stuff. Corpus Christi broke a record from 1895 with 4.5 inches. Thankfully it was all south of us, but the whole event is way weird.
Back home we had leftover turkey, compliments of Elaine. We read the Sunday paper and then Bob got a wild hair and decided to repair the shower door that was tearing through the hanger thingies. This is a major ordeal. It comes out of the track easily but of course we did a major cleanup while we had it out. And then putting it back in the track requires great acrobatics. But we prevailed.
Our neighbor, Sally, is back and said it's nice to be home. We saw a guy come help her with her propane bottles. Looks like they were both out and he lent her one. It is way too cold to be out of propane! We watched one of our movie rentals; Cold Mountain.
Around 10:00 I tried to call my folks to get the scoop on their holidays but got their answering machine. They must be out partying.
It's 10:35 p.m. and 42.7 degrees.
