12-22-2004 Holiday Housecleaning, City Cafe and Blockbuster

Wednesday, December 22, the high today of 46 happened early this morning. The temperatures dropped steadily all day as north winds blew in an artic front. After breakfast we cleaned the place top to bottom with Jimmy Buffet's Christmas tunes blaring on the CD. Then we cleaned ourselves up and headed to Elgin. We got a paper in front of City Cafe and enjoyed hot dinners.

After dinner we stopped in Blockbuster to get a stash of movies for the next few frigid days. Back home we read the paper in our spic & span abode. We watched a West Wing Christmas rerun (Glenda had called earlier to invite us over but we wimped out. We felt like we should stay home and baby-sit our pipes so they don't freeze.) After West Wing we watched one of our rentals; Fahrenheit 9/11.

It was 34 degrees when I went to bed; not as cold as predicted yet.
