An hour later we headed back down Parmer Lane to Target for a few items. We rarely find a Target on the road and there are a few things that I can only find there. Back in Elgin I mailed my Christmas packages at the Post Office. Then we had lunch at Krazy Horse. Bob had a burger and I had Shrimp Fried Rice. We bought an Austin American-Statesman out of the machine on the sidewalk and headed home.
We got into grubby clothes back home and went outside to regrip 26 golf clubs. It's cloudy and gets pretty cool as 5 o'clock and darkness get nearer. We have to bring them all in and let the solvent evaporate and the glue set up overnight. Twenty six golf clubs on your only dining room table is way too much space being taken up in close quarters.
The lady in the 5th wheel next door emerges with her Jack Russel Terrier, Duke, in his bright sweater. I introduce myself and she says her name is Sally. She recently sold her house in the Elgin area and is living in Pleasant Grove in her 5th wheel. Duke is recovering from an attack by two big dogs at an Elgin horse ranch a few weeks ago. Sally is leaving for the holidays. We said we'd watch for water leaks.
With cold hands we finished the clubs and brought them inside. We read the paper and watched double CSI episodes.
It's 10:40 p.m. and 47 degrees.
