    ATTENTION FRIENDS AND FANS!!!!!!!

We have some very exciting news........

On March 3rd, at 10:10 in the pm, my friend, music partner, touring cohort and percussionist, Noah Heldman, became the proud father or TWO baby boys! That's right--Noah's wife Jessica gave birth to a set of beautiful twin boys! We are thrilled for them both!!!

Noah will begin giving them bass and guitar lessons in May and we imagine they will be touring with us by September!

Now, For all of you that have been awaiting the arrival of the new cd....We ask that you please to give us just a tad more time. Being that the twins arrived a bit earlier than expected....we've had to push back the release. But fear not....the CD is finished...and we've put up one more little teaser clip to prove it!

As many of you have noticed, we've taken some time off not just to have babies (ok, I really didn't do much there) but to complete the cd.....!

However, I will be hitting the road again in April! (Noah will be at home on diaper duty until late spring, early summer!)

Here are some EAST COAST DATES:

    • Wednesday, April 4th, Salve Regina University ( RI)
    • Friday, April 7th- Odette’s in New Hope with David Gurland and Dave Eggar ( PA )
    • Sunday, April 9th Randi Driscoll at The Duplex with David Gurland ( NYC)
    • Tuesday April 11th TBA
    • June – ATLANTA PRIDE!!!!

Our CD release concert will be in May, So be looking for the details to come soon!

Until then, thanks to everyone for your continued love and support!

Check out our new page at myspace.com !--and a brand new ”where is randi pic” on this site!

If you'd like to send an email to Noah and Jessica to congratulate them-please put "Noah" in the subject and send it to randi7@earthlink.net

Mark your calendars for the BEAR TO MAKE A DIFFERENCE event for the Matthew Shepard Foundation in Denver, March 25th!

    Peace, randi

JUNE 16, 2002
VOX FEMINA LA will be premiering the SSA choral version of “What Matters” (a benefit song for the Matthew Shepard Foundation) on June 22nd in Los Angeles.

The dates are posted on the site if you click on “Season”...

Kevin Robinson, a wonderful and talented composer and musician, has arranged the piece for choirs. We began the process a few months back, after many many inquiries had been made about a choral version of the piece. Craig Coogan, from New Light Media and Vox Femina, put us in touch with this wonderful spirit...and he contributed his time and talents to help make this piece a reality...(sound familiar???)

Later this month, the Gay Men’s Chorus of Los Angeles will premier the men’s version. Kevin’s arrangement is beautiful and moving...and I am so very honored that these incredible choirs are premiering the respective pieces!!!!

Please come out to support us if you can!!!
much love, randi

To date, we have sold over 5,000 copies of the single..with 100% of the proceeds going to the Matthew Shepard Foundation. (Check out the new "What Matters"page at www.edaf.org!!!)

    10.8.2001
    Hi Everyone,

It's been a long while since I've written.....so I thought I would take this opportunity to say hello. Thanks to everyone who came out to our last show at Java Joe's. We were able to send a donation to the Matthew Shepard Foundation that evening, as well as the Red Cross.

Right now,I am writing to you from Seattle. We are here for a presentation at The Seattle Opera House, (321 MERCER ST)- which the city has billed-"An Evening Against Hate". The organizers have planned a screening of the Film "Journey to a Hate Free Millennium", a message from Judy Shepard and a performance of the song " what matters".

We've had this event planned for months. How timely that we are here...now.

I will post the information..and if you or your friends are in the area, I encourage you to join us. (you know how I strongly I feel about this film). It has opened many minds and hearts...and speaks to everyone in a touching and loving way.

From Seattle, I am heading out to Washington DC where I am honored to be performing at this year's HRC ( Human Rights Campaign) Dinner. The keynote speaker at this year's dinner is Sen. Hillary Clinton. I will perform the song, "what matters" and share the story behind the song.

After that, I head back to Southern Ca. We have a show October 13th in San Diego, CA. The Community Resource Center (CRC) will be celebrating their fourth annual "Flame of Life" on October 13, 2001, a day devoted to honoring victims and survivors of domestic violence.

*****The "Flame of Life" will begin at 1:00 p.m (650 Second Street in Encinitas) and is free for the entire family. CRC will host a variety of live entertainment, child and family activities and games and a variety of speakers, including Senator Bill Morrow, Tanya Brown, District Attorney Paul Pfingst and inspirational personal stories from survivors of domestic violence.

******Live entertainment will feature San Diego Padres own Tim Flannery and Friends, Randi Driscoll, Eve Selis, Dana LeeWood and others.

    Spring 2001 - What's New?

We're well in to the year 2001 but it's been some time since I've been in touch - So here we go!! Last year was full of incredible experiences that taught me a great deal. This year is shaping up to have some magic of its own. “What Matters”- My work with the Matthew Shepard Foundation and New Light Media has been incredibly rewarding. Last year alone we traveled to over 30 cities in the USA and Canada doing benefit concerts and Pride festivals in support of the single,"what matters", which benefits the Matthew Shepard Foundation and other anti hate crime organizations. The big news is that New Light Media is releasing a brand new version of the single, complete with a new intro and a very special message from Judy Shepard. The new cd will also include brand new graphics, a new cd insert and a special bonus track. We are planning for a release in the Spring as part of The Matthew Shepard Foundation- New Light Media Educational package. Please visit www.newlightmedia.org for updates!!!!

New Stuff - I've spent most of the last four months in NY recording the follow up to “Climb” and we are expecting to release the new cd in the spring. I will send out a mailer letting you know the details. In the meantime, you can log on to www.randidriscoll.com for a preview of the lyrics and MP3.com for some new tunes. Also, please visit 102.1 SETS FM in SD - ilisten@sets102.com and ask them to play “The War ”- our first single from the cd! It will air sometime tomorrow morning on Madison and Tony's show.

Tim Flannery and Friends: For those of you who may not know, when I am not doing my solo shows, I perform with Tim Flannery and his mighty band of players. The music is spirit filled and the gigs are a blast. Our shows have been sell-outs and a great time for everyone. This year Tim released a limited edition LIVE record, which featured some great new tunes, some old tunes...and a duet we wrote together called “Do you Think of Me”. The song is being played on SETS FM. Please call or email the station to request this song and other tunes by local artists!

HELLOS! Last year I earned some great accolades from a few wonderful web sites.. In October of 2000, I was named artist of the month for both EstrogenMusic.com and Femmusic.com ! -Femmusic.com went on to name me “Artist of the Year” -2000!!!! These web sites along with MP3.com have been a great support.

GOOD-BYES! Ahh, yes- a sad farewell to our friends at spinrecords.com and iam.com To both sites we bid a fond farewell ....“you spin some, you lose some”....

HIT THE ROAD JACK! I will be heading out this spring / summer to promote the new cd with some concerts...as well as my various benefit shows! You will be able to find updated info about the cities I am visiting on the web site.... As it stands, I’ll be all over the country -beginning in April with dates on the east coast.

That's all for now! Thanks for your continued support!
    Peace,
    Randi
