Ramstrong is my name (or my nickname as you prefer). I am a classically trained graphic artist, recently expanded to include computer graphic as a viable means of artistic expression. I created this website to share my life so others may benefit. The browser requirements are Microsoft Internet Explorer 4 and above, 800x600 screen resolution, and high bandwidth Internet connection. Other browser compatibility, such as Netscape Navigator, is a consideration, but not guaranteed.

My life as an artist began when I was quite young. I began by tracing comics and animating them. Then I learned to copy real life instead of comic characters. By the time I was in high school, I was good enough to earn a Gold Key award and a Young Floridian nomination. After that, I drifted in just about anything. I studied calligraphy, sculpture, and other artistic pursuits. In the end, though, I am an artist. I drew pictures then, I draw pictures now, and I will most probably draw pictures in the future.

Like everyone else, I learned how to draw with a pencil. Nowadays, I don't bother anymore. I just use whatever is available. Usually this means ballpoint pen. I now do all my sketches with a pen. Either I do it right the first time, or I cover up my mistake by putting in extra lines to draw attention away from it. Not all my sketches turn out right, but most are. Furthermore, the more I do this, the less mistake I make. So this is probably a good thing. I humbly put forward a small selection of my sketches.

From time to time, I do some small interesting project. I share the more interesting ones with you. Like my sketches, these aren't limited to any one thing, although I do try to group them by topic.

I will also share some of my techniques, so that you can do the same things I do, and hopefully improve upon it. Please let me know if you find my instructions useful, and I will mention it here.

So how do I end up with a name like Ramstrong, anyway? As I progressed further in my life, I find having a suitable unique name is desirable. Of late, the name Ramstrong comes out most often, and one that I find describes me very well. So from then on, I am Ramstrong.

Ram: a male goat. The name can be interpreted as stubborn. Unyielding to popular demand and stubbornly defend my own view as the right one.

Ram: to forcefully hit. A battering ram. Able to overcome any obstacle that gets in the way. Always gets the job done, no matter the circumstances.

R.A.M. Random Access Memory. Acts as storage unit of information. The name can be interpreted that I am a smart and intelligent person.

Which one is it? Or perhaps all three? Only you can judge for yourself.
