This 49 y/o female was brought to the emergency room by her husband with a history of recent onset of confusion. A CT of the head without contrast was performed. The CT findings led to an MRI with gadolinium. Selected images from the CT scan as well as T1 weighted, T2 weighted and post gadolinium images from the MRI shown above demonstrate findings consistent with a brain abscess. Stereotactic biopsy and aspiration confirmed the diagnosis.
