This 13 y/o male was referred for MRI to evaluate chronic left knee pain. Selected saggital T1 and T2 weighted images are shown above. There is fluid posterior to the infra patellar tendon, there are some signal changes in the anterior tibial tubercle and the infrapatellar tendon at its insertion. The findings are consistent with Osgood-Schlatter disease.
