This 29 y/o female with insulin dependent diabetes presented with lower abdominal pain and elevated WBC count. Her KUB shown above demonstrates emphysematous cystitis with gas in the urinary bladder wall. As is commonly the case, E. coli was cultured from the urine and the patient made an uneventful recovery after therapy with an appropriate antibiotic.
