This 49 y/o male was referred for maxillo-facial CT for evaluation of orbital pain and swelling. Selected images from the CT shown above demonstrate a right ethmoid mucocele. There is expansion of an ethmoid air cell and thinning/erosion of it's lateral wall. The fat plane between the expanded ethmoid air cell and the medial rectus is preserved, with minimal if any displacement/distortion of the medial rectus muscle.
