If you have said to yourself “One day I am going to take drawing or painting lessons!" Why not do it now?
Private lessons - easels, taboret and still life objects provided.
You may leave your working canvas in the studio for your next class.
Learn how to draw anything you see, learn how to define even the most complicated forms into
the 5 basic shapes...triangle, cylinder, square (cube) rectangle (box) or the ball. Start from the simple and move to the complex,
drawing is a teachable and learnable skill. Find the dynamic line, what is negative space and how it can
assist and enliven your drawings, contour, shading, how the 3rd dimension is expressed in perspective and use of foreground,

midground and background, an inexpensive materials list for drawing will be provided.
Learn how to paint ...how to set up and light a still life or an interior...what size stretched canvas to buy...how to design a

composition...how to stretch your own canvas...the usefulness of thumbnails... enlarging and transferring the thumbnail to your

canvas...perspective...drawing on the canvas... the value of an imprimatura...light and shadow...
what is the under painting versus the subsequent layers of oil paint...glazes, scumbles...and brush technique?
What paints to buy, the differences between transparent and opaque colors, what kind and size brush to use, and how to

proceed step by step.
Two hour classes are ideal. If your budget prohibits 2 hours every week, come every other week.
