Training National Workers to Train National Workers
The Bible teaches us to make disciples "as we go". The example of our Lord and the apostles was "hands-on" ministry training.
With more than 90 distinct dialects in Peru, it is not possible to learn every language. Using national workers as translators
helps in their training, helps them overcome their fear of speaking in front of crowds and gives them practice in giving an
orderly presentation of the gospel.
ESBICAM – a series of three intensive, weeklong sessions equip national workers. Teachings follow the scriptural
injunction to diligently add virtue (character) to our faith, then knowledge. Our training is designed to deal with the character
of the Christian, the Person of God and the development of a personal devotional life through prayer and inductive Bible Study.
Mobilization
Using these materials and more, we train national workers through both classroom and
hands-on experience, making disciples as we go. After attaining to a certain level of growth and maturity, national workers
are sent out to complete the call of God on their lives.
