Kevin is typical of the children
we receive. At the age of 15, after spending six years in the public school system, he could not even recite the alphabet
or add the simplest of numbers. If he were to return to public school, he would have to enter the third grade. In the public
schools the children are mocked and ridiculed by teachers and other students if they refuse worship the idols. Discipline
is unheard of and if parents complain about abuse from other children, they are told that the teachers are there to teach,
not to discipline, and if they don't like it, there are other schools. The teachers themselves have been known to be abusive.
In response to this need, we have
decided to open a Christian school in Poroy, the purpose of which will be to provide an adequate, Bible-based education priarily
for the children awarded to our home by the State. We have hired a teacher, assisted by our daughters Sarah and Hannah, and have begun work in one of the dorm-style bedrooms in our home while constructing
an additional room to house the school. Anyone interested in assisting with the
costs, please contact us at quechua.call@gmail.com .
