| Let me start off by telling you my story and how I got into model aircraft. I first saw a news piece, that I saw on the afternoon news, the news cast were following a weekend RC nascar event passing through town, well after seeing that it got my curiosity up so I started asking around. My questions and searching led me to a local track meet that was held every Saturday night behind the Hobbytown USA shop near by. I met and localized myself with all of the participates around the track. I was reluctant to purchase a nitro car at that time due to the fact of the high maintenance needed to keep them going, so I purchased an off road electric car with the intentions of getting a nitro driven at a later date. Days past and time went by when, one day I was out driving around trying to find a nice offroad track to run my car, when I had remembered a park not more then 5 miles from my house. I have never visted this park so I decided to give it a try. I turned into the park road and about a mile into the park I noticed RC model planes flying so I turned into the parking lot so as to clear my channel with everyone. This is when the flight bug hit me. I again started asking questions and one of the answers I received that made my mind up for me was that model planes did not require the high maintenance that the cars required. All fields of RC are great hobbies to get into not to mention the joy and fun you will have.
