I received the moniker Mr. Jim in 1983, while I was a counselor at the Christian Herald's "Mont Lawn Camp." The formal title combined with the first name was meant to elicit both respect & familiarity. It worked with adults as well as the children, and I have always liked it.
Here on the Internet, I believe I have a reasonable chance of getting people to use it again...

My goal is to be a published novelist by the age of 50.
I have been a soldier, mountain man, banker, real estate agent, editor, artist and dreamer. I am interested in many things and I'd like to share some of them with you here...

When I was made they broke the mold.
Then, they hunted down the mold-maker, dragged him through the streets, poked his eyes out, put his hands through a meat- grinder, had him drawn and quartered, and hung the pieces from gibbets so people could throw trash at them.
