Mike Peipman, Trumpet – of Franklin, MA, was born in Sydney, Australia, and studied at N.S.W. Conservatorium of Music. He played the seasons for "The Wiz" and "Man of La Mancha" at Her Majesty's theatre before coming to Boston to study at Berklee College of Music. Combining the careers of lead trumpet player and Jazz soloist, he has toured with numerous groups such as the Artie Shaw Orchestra and the Woody Herman Orchestra led by Frank Tiberi and recorded two Blue Note Albums: "So What" and "African Game" with George Russell's Living Time Orchestra. He has played on the soundtracks to numerous movies such as, "Young At Heart", "Prefontaine”, "Silver City", and "Dick Tracy". He has also performed at numerous Jazz Festivals, such as the Parnu Jazz Festival featured with the Estonian Radio Big Band, the Kool Jazz Festival with George Russell, the Montreal Jazz Festival with Bob Moses, the Toulon Jazz Festival with Toulon All-Stars, as well as the Kyoto Jazz Festival. Mike teaches trumpet lessons at Concord Academy, St Mark's School and Milton High School.
