The Pomona Valley Model Railroad Club:
50 Years of History...

The Pomona Valley Model Railroad Club got its start in 1959 under the name of West Covina Brotherhood of Model Railroaders.  The original Club was located in West Covina moving to San Dimas a short time later.  In 1977, the club moved to its Pomona location where the layout had evolved over it's twenty seven year life.  Alas, were forced to dismantle our layout in 2005 due to be evicted by the new landlord wishing to convert our building to loft apartments.  We found a new home in the second floor of the VFW just a couple of blocks away.  Unfortunately, that was not to last since the post was closed down by the National VFW.

A decision was made in 2009 by the organization to disband our organization and liquidate the assets amongst the remaining members .  It is our sincere hope to secure a new facility sometime in the future and to rebuild our layout to the grandeur it once had.

For a historical look at what our organization was like, checkout the article from the 1973 Model Railroader highlighting the railroad equipment painting contest into club colors and the 1993 article from the L.A. Times.
