'Chet' was a beautiful, "Mack Truck" logo, all male bulldog. Pearl was a mama's dog -- still is! They had two litters and Judy decided to keep a couple females from each. By this time, we needed a new 'stud' and we went searching all over Memphis for candidates. We finally narrowed the search down to "Pepper Jack" from a breeder north of Memphis... By this time, our house in Memphis was too small so Bob started building a house and dog barn in the country (real close to Judy's family). After a couple of years of reading information on the internet, books and long talks with our vet, we've settled into raising English bulldog puppies full time.
We've 'rescued' several adult bulldogs and placed a one or two with good families. Judy's address is on the doggy bulletin board and so the 'unwanted' come and stay with us a while until we find them a good home. There have been pugs, retrievers, grayhounds, beagles, fiest, rat terriers, mixes, mutts and a great big newfoundland.
Two years after purchasing Pepper Jack, Judy happened to be in Ripley, MS and saw a beautiful stud for sale. This short, all muscle, male belonged to an elderly vet who had been breeding bulldogs. Judy brought him home and while registering him, discovered that not only did Pepper Jack and "Elvis" (his new name) have the same parents, they had been born in the same litter!
We only breed English bulldogs. Prospective owners must be approved by Judy. The health guarentee covers any genetic abnormality for the life of the dog. We do not ship so new owners must drive to our house or fly to Memphis to pick up their English bulldog puppy. We keep in contact with the 'extended family' and post pictures and stories of the lovable antics of these canine clowns.
Our puppies from Pepper Jack and Elvis and the females have turned out very healthy over the years. Even though they have eleven champions in their previous 3 generations, we breed for disposition and health.
