Once a geek, always a geek. Yes, I love comics. I don't really collect them much anymore (families tend to
get in the way of all that extra cash lying around the house doing nothing you know!) but I love the art form.
I've recently discovered a few on-line comics that I read as regularly as the ones in the paper.
Dork Tower is currently the only comic I still collect. I've met John several times at Origins and he is a great
guy. Buy his stuff!
Irregular WebComic is one of the most consistently published web comics I have found. Legos, Star Wars and Role Playing - what
more can you ask for?
Girl Genius - Phil Foglio has taken his fun SteamTech comic and put it on-line. A great rollicking fun read. And
he draws girls nice too!
Gossamer Commons -What happens when you see a fairy without it's glamour - but only because you saved her life? Marked for
death, yet protected by those sworn to kill him until he writes the great american novel. An intriguing idea and a good
read.
Legostar Galactica - another Lego comic - and pretty good to boot. I can't decide who I like more, Gary the Giant Space Squid,
or Ensign Red Shirt.
Something Positive isn't for everyone - definitely not for small children. A sick, twisted slice of life - one of the reasons
I like it.
Sluggy Freelance has monsters, cloners, slackers, cute girls and demons. And a bunny that will slit your throat if you
piss him off. Fun Times!
Real Life - another good strip - not as twisted as some, but just as geeky. Beware The Shirt Ninja!
pVp - Geeks and games - what more do you need?
Sanity Check - Fun with Joshua and Hope, and their neighbor Mistress Kitten. The Techno-Wednesdays are fun.
Nodwick - Adventures of the world's greatest Henchman - and his inept adventurer employers.
Queen of Wands - A quirky little strip about a girl in Denver and her friends. A really great read. The only bad part
is it is over, done, kaput. But check the archives - it's worth it. And she is running the rapid fire re-runs
with commentary - even more fun.
/usr/bin/w00t I'm too old (geek though I may be) to do 'netspeak' or whatever this is (I get /usr/bin as an old Unix guy
but w00t is I have no clue) - but it is truly funny. I love the LARP stuff! Unfortunately this one is also no longer
being produced.
The Call of Whatever - A great sendup of Cthulu and those who take it a little too seriously. Unfortunately, also now no longer
being done.
