| Sarah Tsang and Tim Chase
were married at 4:30 pm October 2,1998 in the Gazebo on the Village
Green in Quechee, Vermont, near the Simon Pearce Mill/Store/Restaurant
where they later had dinner. The justice of the peace, Mary
Riley, had a nice, simple ceremony in the cold 50 degree windy overcast
day. Tim's mom Joan, his sister Dianna, his nieces Amanda and
Marissa, his Aunt June and Uncle Ed were present as well as Sarah's
friends Kim and Bruce Freedman.
The flowers were by Woodstock Florist, and the florist was really nice and very helpful as I had no idea what I wanted in flowers, just NO PLASTIC holder. I ended up with Rafaela roses from Ecuador, they're strawberry red with white on the outside of the petals, really pretty. We all walked around to the river and the waterfall and covered bridge later taking pictures. The overcast weather worked well for the pictures -- no glare, no squinting. As you can see by the photos, they were married in the height of the fall colors season. The scenery there is quite lovely from what we can see here. The cats did not attend the ceremony, they were too freaked out from travelling so we left them in the hotel room (plus it was too cold). We had champagne and cheese and crackers back at the hotel to thaw out before dinner at 8:30 at Simon Pearce Restaurant which was really good but the candles on the wedding cake were a little strange (the people at the next table started singing happy birthday). The restaurant was featured in the October edition of Victoria magazine, and the table we sat at is in one of the photographs. OK - for those of you in the industry, I know you're waiting to ask... yes, I did make the dress, no, it wasn't knit (or polar fleece but that would have been a good idea...). A-line princess seamed, skirt with raised waist in off white bonded silk satin (stiff as a board and anti-wrinkle!), sleeveless scoop neck top in double layered silk duoppioni Thai Silk mom had bought her last trip there about 6 years ago, 2" wide pintucked satin ribbon at the waist, the whole thing topped with the cropped v neck 3/4 length sleeve hook front re-embroidered lace jacket from my mother's wedding dress. Whole thing took about 3 days. |
