Mini Tux II

minituxv1ab.jpg

This is a wonderful easy to build, flat bottom, multi-chined sailboat.

It was originally designed and built by Jens Spamer of Luebeck, Germany.

The Mini Tux II is a hybrid of the Palo de Agua and Jif Rg-65's.

The Mini Tux I plans call for using 2mm (3/32") balsa sheet. I am substituted 1/8", feeling that 2mm would be a bit weak. After coating my hull with 2 oz. fiberglass cloth a epoxy, it's feels like it's bullet proof!! If you decide to build a RG65, go ahead and use 2mm coated with epoxy. It will be more than strong enough as well as lightweight.

Had a change in plans, decided to make a mold of this hull and make some in fiberglass.
