pSwanson crochets

Welcome to my crocheting strands of the web.

Crocheting is my main obsession, and I have been doing it off and on for 30 years. I started with worsted weight yarn and just did afghans, and bookcase toppers (small versions of afghans) with sports weight yarn. Then naturally, I went back to school and got married, and crocheting was put on the back burner for a while. I subscribed to "Magic Crochet" in the 1980s and got into thread.

In 1993, I got called for jury duty. After finishing a book in a day and a half, I took some thread to crochet during the breaks and lunch, and have been crocheting off and on until May 1997. I entered a beaded doily in the Orange County Fair at the insistence of a co-worker, and won first place. I entered the same doily in the Los Angeles County Fair , and I won a second place. I haven't stopped since and always have at least three WIPs (work in progress).

I have now come full circle. I crochet in thread and yarn for different reasons, but the main reason is just for creating wonderful things. Take a look, and feel free to comment. I'll be adding to these pages as the projects go to FO (finished object).

If you are interested in crocheting, check out Crochet Partners or my other crocheting links.
