We have antique frames available. Included are traditional mahogany veneer, pine, cherry, maple, walnut, walnut with gold gilt liners, gold gilt, and painted. Some of the latter are with wood grain or other decorative painting. We also have a few "criss cross" frames, i.e. walnut pieces not mitered at the corners, but crossing each other and extending one beyond the other by a couple of inches. These frames usually have ornamental carvings or pressed wood figures at the corners.
A number of frames are described and priced below. Photos are also provided.
Frames are available "as is" -- which means you clean and/or repair the frame to your level of satisfaction -- or repaired and/or refinished as we deem necessary. They are provided with glass, a backing sheet of acid-free paper, and a backing "board". In some cases we can provide old glass with "bubbles", "seeds", or waviness to accent the antiquity of the print being framed. Alternatively, plain glass is available. Add $10 for each frame for insured shipping.
Different sizes are available. The most common is 10" x 14". Sizes up to 12" x 16" are sometimes available and even larger sizes sometimes crop up. However, glass is not available for frames larger than 12" x 16" because of the difficulty in shipping.
A framing service is available for $25. The result is a framed print ready to hang. Please call us to discuss your needs and we will work with you to try to provide you with what you want.
