Amanda Monaco

Amanda Monaco's musical association with Noah Baerman dates back to jazz gigs in 1991 in New Haven. Mr. B wanted to recruit Amanda for a latter-day incarnation of Mental Floss, but by that point she had left Connecticut. Now, all these years later and after many more jazz gigs together, they are finally collaborating on a pop project.

Amanda Monaco is from New York, NY. She has given performances at Tavern on the Green, Windows on the World and the United Nations as well as other venues in the New York City Metro area and beyond. Known for her versatility, Amanda has performed with a wide variety of jazz artists, swing bands, pop groups and singer-songwriters, as well as leading a popular NY jazz trio, the Amanda Monaco Three. She received critical acclaim for her European tour with pianist Sunna Gunnlaugsdottir, has worked with flutist Carolena on various projects, served a stint in the progressive rock quartet You Were Spiraling, and appeared with bassist Milt Hinton at the age of sixteen.

An accomplished teacher, Amanda is on the faculty of the National Guitar Workshop and the New School University. She studied with guitar guru Ted Dunbar and is a graduate of William Paterson University's renowned jazz program. Amanda is also the Northeast (American) representative for Klein Electric Guitars.

Noah says: I've been working with Amanda off and on for what seems like forever, but never consistently until now. It's great to have a project going where I can make full use of her skill, versatility, and unique sound.

Mr. B says: all you macho dudes with guitars better watch out, 'cause this chick ain't foolin' around!
