New York City didn't need the West Side Stadium, it didn't need the Olympics, and it doesn't need this invasive redesign and
reconstruction.
This site is intended to be a means of notification about the events in the planned usurpation of Washington Square Park by
private interests.
It will have ongoing news updates and suggestions for actions to take to prevent the irretrievable loss of a world-class
meeting and performance space.
It will also celebrate the park with sections about the history of the park and the many features that make it unique
and indispensable to New York City, America, and the world.
And it will have a blog selected from your emailed thoughts, ideas, and stories.
It will be updated frequently, so come back often.
This is YOUR site.
And if we can stop the loss of the Park as we know it, this site will continue as a celebration of the world-famous Washington
Square Park.
Why is
the site in these colors?
Blue for the sky above the park Green for the trees and grass Orange for the leaves of fall Gray for the endangered public paved areas
