From the probate papers of Simeon Brownson.
Madison County for Russell Brownson being duly sworn in open Court before the County Judge ? says I know Simeon Brownson in his life time. I suppose I am a brother to him. I am acquainted with is hand writing and have seen him write. The signature “Simeon Brownson” to the will not shown me I have no doubt is his own hand writing. He was a citizen of the United States at the time of his death. He died the 6th day of November 1852. I had seen him as often as once in two months for the year previous to his death. I might have seen him in the month of April last and might not. I have ? this ? and evidence of ? of mind or imbecility or anything of that sort. Russell Brownson
