The QuickTime Classroom Collection CD Vol. 1
The QuickTime Classroom Collection CD is intended for use in educational and home settings as an additional tool to facilitate beginning literacy skills, language development and curriculum development. The movies consist of 100 different verbs, 250+ movies, and 250+ still photographs which may be added to popular multimedia programs such as: IntelliPics Studio, BuildAbility, KidPix Studio and HyperStudio. The idea is NOT to create an entire activity of movies, but to add movies for emphasis, generalization of concepts and for humor. Combining the movies with other graphics, sounds and movements will create exciting activities. The movies may also be played with QuickTime player.
Each QuickTime movie has a companion photograph (still) made from the video. Stills may be used as a background picture for the actual video in a multimedia program or inserted prior to the movie for emphasis. In this way, attention may be drawn to the action, by an arrow perhaps, to focus the student’s attention on the upcoming action.
Many of the videos have been split at the moment of the action and the companion still inserted to allow the student to focus on the action. Each still pauses the action for several seconds. Sample activities and "unit" examples are provided for IntelliPics Studio, BuildAbility, KidPix Studio and HyperStudio!

The QuickTime Classroom Collection CD Vol. 2
The QuickTime Classroom Collection CD Volume 2 is the second collection of QuickTime movies developed specifically for classroom use. Each movie has a companion "still" photograph for additional curriculum development. Many movies with rapid action have the still photograph inserted in the movie clip to provide a momentary pause in the action. This allows students time to see and focus on the specific event. Movies and photographs may be inserted in BuildAbility and other multimedia programs or viewed with the free QuickTime Player from Apple on both Mac and Windows.
Movie categories include "virtual field trips" to the airport, a dairy farm, the zoo, a farm, a Renaissance festival with period costumes and activities from the Middle Ages, and the four seasons.
Movie sequences include a complete house construction from the initial dirt work to the completed exterior, a fishing sequence, the milking sequence at the dairy farm, calving, and a goose family from the eggs to young goslings.
Movie collections also include a butterfly farm, a variety of birds including a bird’s nest with baby birds, and a buffalo herd.
A collection of "Road Trip" movies depict "behind the wheel" driving through mountain roads and may be used in a variety of activities such as travel and game sequences.
