Animated Stories Toolkit

The Animated Stories Toolkit is an exciting, open-ended set of IntelliPics Studio templates that provide reading and writing opportunities for "kids" of all ages! The Toolkit consists of the Ready to Write Story templates, Postcard templates, the Virtual Stable, New Story Templates, Overlays, tutorials, and a collection of Background photographs.
The Ready to Write Story Templates
The Ready to Write Story templates consist of real (photographic) animated characters (man, dog, cat, pony, goose) who "walk" through a variety of moving scenery. On every page, a text box appears which allows each student to write his or her own version of the stories. The Ready to Write Postcards
For students intimidated by writing the longer stories, the postcard provides a simple one page writing project. Students may imagine what they might write if they visited the moving scenes and write their own postcard greeting. The simplicity of the postcard might provide a good beginning writing activity.
The "Virtual" Stable
The "Virtual" Stable allows students to move an animated character through the halls of a real stable. Reading directions provides clues to available animations, such as feeding a horse, filling a water bucket, opening a door, and much more. The student decides whether to walk straight ahead, turn left or right or completely around. There is no right or wrong way to explore the stable.
The Stable and stories may be accessed with a mouse, IntelliKeys, or single switch. Young children and/or students at the cause/effect level will enjoy "visiting" the Ready to Write stories written by classmates, teachers, or parents.
