Begin by focusing on your breath. Relax and breathe in slowly. As you release the breath, let the fast paced world slip away. Breathe in the peace and quiet of the natural surroundings allowing the peace and quiet to restore your mental and spiritual balance. As you breathe out feel the pressures of the outside world fall away. Slowly the negative energies, the stress and pressure of the day that you are ridding your body of begin to dissolve and flow into the earth where they too can be restored to the natural balance.
Gently continue to breathe in and slowly breathe out. Allow each breath to be slower than the previous breath. As you breathe slowly your body is becoming calmer. Muscles are relaxing, your heart rate is slowing and you are helping your body to rest. Little you little you are able to achieve a bit of serenity.
Gradually, breath-by-breath, you are bringing yourself into a calmer state of being. Calmer and calmer, more and more peaceful, more and more relaxed. Notice any tension in your body and as you take your next breath direct the oxygen rich air to that location. When you exhale, allow the tension to release itself along with the release of air. Little you little you are able to achieve a bit of serenity.
As you continue your slow breathing, allow your eyes to relax, but not to become so relaxed that you cease to be aware of your surroundings. Your friends are still nearby. You can still see the flickering flames of the fire. The drum still plays softly in the background. As your awareness shifts, the fire may become any color as it burns to embers. Here in the soft glow of the fire the flames are warm and comforting. Imagine that the warmth of the embers is the same warmth that rose from the first embers of those ancient volcanoes that formed the earth.
The drum beats the heartbeat of the formless world and the crackling flames shoot streams of fire and water into the air. Here in the beginning of time fire, air, water, and earth blended into one force of primordial creation.
As you stand at the edge of the forming universe the energy of all creation spreads out before you. The womb of the universe is radiant energy swirling and spinning as it begins forming the basis of the variations of life to come. You are a part of this energy. Caught up in the flow of molten fire, creating and shaping what is to come into being. In your energy body you are a creature of flame, the embodiment of creative energy. You reach out your hand and lift one small glowing ember, feeling the warmth of it as a expression of your own internal fire. This small ember is something you can hold in the palm of your hand. As you hold it, you can feel the glowing energy slightly vibrating. It speaks to you through the flow of energy. Your hand is getting warmer because this ember vibrates with energy that in turn reenergizes you.
You can feel the ember connecting not only to the energy inside you, but the universal energy. From this focus point you can bring universal energy into your body using your tiny glowing ember as a conduit. Breathe in slowly, bringing in strong, healing, energized light directly from the space around you through your focus point and into your body. There is no burning, because you too are a creature of universal energy. The beating heart of the fire is one with the beating of your own heart.
This healing energy is so powerful that as it moves through you, the inside of your body is quickly showered with healing light. Light pours through your hand, up your arm and through your shoulders, neck and head. It pours through your chest, your stomach, your hips and down your legs all the way to your toes. You are bathing yourself with light. As the light spreads through you, you feel the pulse of energy all throughout your body--bringing a magnificent glow of healing energy, love and strength. You feel yourself being reformed and energized by the radiant flame.
This energy is so strong that the glow inside your body begins to seep out through your skin and forms a blanket of light on the outside, around your body. You can still feel energy entering your hand through your ember. It circles through your body intensifying the energy already within you, and seeps through your skin to add to the blanket of light surrounding you. Continue bringing in as much light as you wish, circling it through your body, and then watching the light around you thicken to the same soft warm level of the ember you hold.
As you continue breathing slowly, connecting with the universal energy through your hand, you realize that within this blanket of light your connection is direct. You drop the tiny ember back into the fire and expand your awareness to the glow of the earth around you. There is no need to hang on to your focus point anymore because the focus is within you.
You feel the universal energy is your energy. You own it as much as I or any other. Scarcity is not an issue, for the amount is endless. You realize that when you bring light into you, that light is intensified as it pours out of you into the world around you. You harvest as much of the light as you can hold, knowing that what you reap of the creative light eventually must returns to the light through those things you create.
Energy does not only carry you or propel you, it feeds you throughout your journey. Through your place in the life energy of the universe you tap into all that is, connecting and participating more fully. It is your link to creativity, wisdom and growth. When you feel disconnected, call upon this energy to reconnect. Like the glow of a torch, the glowing energy will light the way, guiding you with its soft glow, but you must pick up the torch, connect yourself for its full strength to be realized.
Energy is there whether you notice it or not. It glows in each candle, and campfire. It surfaces in the flash of lightening and the lava flow, and warms you in the sunlight. All you need to do is open your eyes to the light around you. You see the flow of energy when you, yourself, become aware and react. You must reach out to take the flow into your hand. Through the process of joining with the flow of energy around you, you intensify each other, becoming one.
When you have taken in as much as you need of this radiant, renewing, energy, you realize it is time to return your focus to your surroundings. Bring you gaze back into the fire as it appears, feel the warm glow brushing against your skin. Take time to feel the energy of your friends as you gently start to shift your position and slowly beginning to move your arms and legs. Continue to breathe slowly and calmly. Let yourself return at your own pace.
Here and now the room holds a sense of peacefulness. Along with this peacefulness, your body and spirit are feeling relaxed, refreshed, and energized.
Take all the time you wish to think about what you feel before gently returning to your mundane awareness.
