We hide our intimate worlds among the
walls of our houses. The large city, in
which we live, is a concentration of the
public and the private, which is hidden
behind the windows and the panels of
houses.

The project called LIVE BROADCAST
of the Hidden Art Unit KÔd (Skryt‡ Tvór‹’
Jednotka KÔd) uncovers the veil of the
private deliberately, and bares it. The
intimate is transferred virtually into
the public in Òlive broadcastÒ, and thus
brings about a confrontation of these
two opposite poles.

By means of a camera placed in a room
and a monitor installed at a convenient
place in the street an electronic
picture transfers and mediates a
situation which takes place in a private
sector, into the situation in public
space. Through the magical electronic
spy-hole a random passer-by can look
into an anonymous, though concrete, life
space of someone else. This way the
passer-by becomes a shy voyeur, a keen
inspector, a dull dawdler, a curious
urchin, a participant of a performance...
or someone completely different.

People who offer their privacy continue
to fill the architecture of their
dwelling space with their bodies
without any change...
