Super Caterpillar

This is a caterpillar of early
capitalism in the Czech
Republic. It is situated at
V’tžznŽ square in Prague -
Dejvice (known as the Òround
squareÒ) on the pedestal where
a sculpture of Lenin once
stood. I enjoy giving a new
function to old placesÐhere it
will be a new ideology.
The Super Caterpillar can be
placed, however, at a
different siteÐsuch a big
caterpillar (10 meters a
least) would be visible
anywhere.
Originally it was suposed to
be rainbow-colored bur
omnivorous, now with the
recent budget limitations it
may be faded, we shall see.

Big Hearts

Big Hearts are to be placed at
Jan Palach square between the
Rudolfinum, the College of
Applied Arts, the
Philosophical Faculty and
Hrad‹any on the ugly
ventilator for the underground
garage. It is round so when
covered with a white cloth, it
will become a large table.
Upon which will be placed big
hearts. The nation as well as
the motherland need them.

Neratovice

- A Revitalized City
We will organize a
multi-disciplinary workshop
where the participants will
produce designs for things we
would like to see and have in
the city.
1. A system of - islands of
pleasure - where things can be
changed for the better without
much money, creating places
that will brighten up the
city.
2. We have some utopian ideas
according to which the city
could change for better as a
whole over the long term.
One of our ideas, for example,
is to turn the pine tree
forest between the main square
and the city council building
into a nice, attractive spot.

Another idea is to erect a
monument honoring Frantiäek
Palackù who wrote his History
of the Czech Nation in Bohemia
and Moravia in Lobkovice. My
suggestion for a suitable
location is in the former cove
in the woods not far from the
Lobkowicz Chateau where he
used to write. The monument
would be a Stone book with a
path along the river Elbe.
Perhaps Palackù used to walk
here while writing this book
for us.
