PROJECT - SCULPTURE

In one of the arcades in
Prague - ideally the Lucerna
arcade - we would set up a
projection screen. Made of
resistant material the screen
would be hanging from steel
wires. A projector, computer
and camera n.2 would be
installed in a protected
place. The projected picture
would be a sculpture which
would move in accordance with
the spectatorÕs distance to
it. At the same time the
spectatorÕs figure would be
reflected on its surface. The
computer would be transmitting
the reflection onto the
sculpture from camera n.1 next
to the latter. This camera
would be filming the spectator
approaching the screen. All of
this would be happening in
real time. The sculpture
itself is a simple geometrical
form - a sphere. This sphere
would unfold and reform
following the principle
sketched out below and
demonstrated by the photo of
the already existing
sculpture.

In the arcade people would be
passing by the screen and
could watch the moving
sculpture from both sides
while it would be reacting to
them. They would be reflected
on its surface. The sculpture
would be quietly floating in
the air, indestructible, with
precision not attainable in
reality.

We have already tested the
project three times and with
every new realization it has
improved in quality. We have
no doubts that we can
realize the project.
