Beaver County went 85 years between sightings of a Little Blue Heron within its borders, a drought finally ended by this juvenile at Independence Marsh in July 2010. But the county only had to wait nine months for the next little blue, this time an adult, again at Independence Marsh. Found by Becky Smith on April 7, it was cooperative enough to say until the late evening for these pictures. Though it was still there and highly visible when I left near dusk on the 7th, it was not seen the next day.
