Sandhill Crane - September 24, 2011

Two Sandhill Cranes were found in Peters Twp, Washington County on September 23, and remained through the weekend to be witnessed by many local birders. These represented one of only a few records for the county, but with the species making a major expansion into Pennsylvania, perhaps they will become more regular in southwestern Pennsylvania in the future.
