On 20 December 2008, near the beginning of what developed into an enormous invasion of White-winged Crossbills into Pennsylvania,
I journeyed to Cook Forest State Park in Clarion County to see and photograph a flock of over 100 White-winged Crossbills
that had been reported there. In the time since, crossbills have begun appearing in just about every corner of the state,
and though I had planned on returning to Cook Forest once or twice more as the winter wore on, it probably isn't necessary,
because hundreds of crossbills have been reported much closer to home.
Should I return to Cook Forest later this season I will update this page with additonal photos, but for now, here are
the best I got on 20 December.
