Little Blue Heron - May 29, 2012

Little Blue Heron at Boyce-Mayview Park, Allegheny County
 
Discovered by Fred Kachmarik on 28 May at the wetlands area at Boyce-Mayview Park, this adult Little Blue Heron represented the (long-awaited, considering the wealth of records from nearby counties) second Allegheny County record. It remained in the general area for a few days and was seen by many birders around the area.
